This Cookie Policy explains how Pircel P.C. (Pircel, we, us, or our) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on the website located at https://www.pircel.com (the Website) and within our hosted shipping management platform (the Service).
This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which sets out how we process personal data more generally.
1. What This Document Covers
When you visit the Website or use the Service, we — and certain third parties acting on our behalf or in their own right — may place small files on your device or use similar technologies to access information on your device. We refer to all of these technologies collectively as Trackers in this document. Trackers include:
- HTTP cookies: small text files stored in your browser.
- Local storage and session storage: data stored by web pages in your browser, similar to cookies but with different scope and lifetime.
- Web beacons (pixels), tags, and scripts: code embedded in web pages used to detect activity.
- Fingerprinting and similar techniques: combinations of device, browser, and behavior signals used to identify visitors.
Some Trackers are set directly by us (first-party Trackers); others are set by third-party service providers (third-party Trackers). The scope and behavior of third-party Trackers are governed by the relevant third party's own privacy and cookie policies.

3. Categories of Trackers We Use
We classify our Trackers into the following categories.
3.1 Strictly Necessary Trackers (always active)
These Trackers are essential for the Website or Service to function. Without them, services you have explicitly requested (such as signing in, maintaining a session, or submitting a form) cannot be provided. They do not require your consent.
Examples of strictly necessary Trackers we use include:
| Tracker | Type | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
token | First-party cookie | Pircel | Maintains the authenticated user session in the Service (signed token used to verify the user’s identity) | Session / up to 30 days |
pircel_consent | First-party cookie | Pircel | Stores your cookie consent choices so we do not re-prompt you | Up to 12 months |
| Anti-CSRF tokens | First-party cookie / local storage | Pircel | Protects against cross-site request forgery | Session |
| Load-balancing / routing identifiers | First-party cookie | Pircel / Vercel | Routes your requests consistently to the right server | Session |
3.2 Functional Trackers (consent-based, where applicable)
These Trackers enable features that improve usability but are not strictly necessary. Where the use of such Trackers requires your consent under applicable law, we will request it via our consent banner.
Examples may include user-interface preferences (e.g., remembered display settings) and similar.
3.3 Analytics and Performance Trackers (consent-based)
We use these Trackers to understand how visitors and users interact with the Website and the Service so we can improve them. They are activated only with your consent (where required).
| Tracker | Type | Provider | Purpose | Place of processing | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
ph_phc_*_posthog | Third-party cookie | PostHog, Inc. (EU data plane) | Product analytics: tracks page views, events, and user journeys to help us improve the Service. For authenticated users, events are associated with the user’s account identifier, email, name, and eshop. | European Union (eu.i.posthog.com) | Up to 2 years |
| PostHog session-replay storage (where enabled) | Local storage / third-party Trackers | PostHog, Inc. (EU data plane) | Records user interactions for usability analysis and debugging; inputs are masked by default. | European Union | Up to 2 years |
| Sentry session-replay identifiers and diagnostic Trackers | Local storage / third-party Trackers | Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry EU data plane) | Captures error events, performance metrics, and short replays of sessions where errors occur, to help us diagnose and fix problems. Inputs are masked by default. | European Union (Frankfurt) | Up to 90 days |
| Vercel diagnostic identifiers | First-party storage routed via Vercel | Vercel, Inc. | Anonymous performance and traffic measurements for hosting and CDN operations. | European Union | Session-based |
3.4 Marketing and Advertising Trackers
We currently do not use third-party advertising, retargeting, or social-media tracking pixels (such as Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight, or TikTok Pixel) on the Website. If this changes, we will update this Cookie Policy and request your consent before activating such Trackers.
4. Third Parties That May Set Trackers
The third parties listed in Section 3 may set their own Trackers on your device when you visit the Website or use the Service. These third parties are independent data controllers or our sub-processors, depending on the activity. Their use of Trackers is governed by their own policies:
- PostHog — Privacy Policy: posthog.com/privacy
- Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) — Privacy Policy: sentry.io/privacy
- Vercel — Privacy Policy: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
- Google Maps Platform (loaded inside the authenticated dashboard) — Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- MongoDB Atlas Charts (embedded inside the authenticated dashboard) — Privacy Policy: mongodb.com/legal/privacy-policy
A complete and current list of our sub-processors and other third-party recipients, including their location and data-residency information, is published at /subprocessors.
5. Legal Basis for the Use of Trackers
- Strictly necessary Trackers are used on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating the Website and the Service, and (where applicable) the performance of a contract with you. These Trackers do not require your consent under Greek Law 3471/2006 (which implements the ePrivacy Directive in Greece) or under Article 6 GDPR.
- All other Trackers are used on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; Article 4(5) of Greek Law 3471/2006). You provide consent through our cookie consent banner the first time you visit the Website and can change your preferences at any time.
6. How to Manage Your Consent
6.1 Via Our Consent Banner / Preference Center
The first time you visit the Website, you will see a consent banner that allows you to accept, reject, or customize the use of non-essential Trackers. You can change your choices at any time by clicking the "Cookie preferences" link in the Website footer.
Your consent choices are stored in a first-party cookie so we do not re-prompt you. We may re-prompt you if:
- You clear your cookies or use a different browser or device;
- A significant amount of time has passed since your last choice (typically 12 months); or
- The list of Trackers materially changes.
6.2 Via Your Browser Settings
Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies and similar storage. The exact steps depend on your browser:
- Google Chrome: support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
- Mozilla Firefox: support.mozilla.org/kb/enhanced-tracking-protection-firefox-desktop
- Apple Safari: support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-sfri11471
- Microsoft Edge: support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4027947
- Brave: support.brave.com/articles/360050634711
- Opera: help.opera.com/web-preferences/#cookies
Note that browser settings typically do not allow you to control Trackers on a granular, category-by-category basis — for that, use our consent banner.
6.3 Global Privacy Control (GPC) Signal
Where your browser sends the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as an indication that you do not consent to non-essential Trackers, and we will configure our consent state accordingly on first load. You can still grant or modify consent through our preference center.
6.4 Consequences of Refusing Trackers
Strictly necessary Trackers will operate regardless of your choices, because the Website and the Service cannot function without them. If you refuse consent for analytics and similar Trackers, certain non-essential features may be limited but core functionality will remain available.
7. Updates to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Trackers we use, in applicable law, or in our practices. The updated version will be posted on the Website with a revised "Last Updated" date. If the changes are material, we will provide additional notice (for example, via the consent banner or a prominent notice on the Website).
